Christian Counseling

All psychotherapists practice counseling from their personal world view. Our beliefs about God, ourselves, others, and the world form the foundation of our therapeutic approach. As a Christian, all of the methods, tools, and techniques that I use are congruent with my faith in God as a personal Creator, Father, Savior, Healer, and Guide.

Integral to my work as a Christian Counselor is a respect for all beliefs. I have worked with people from all walks of life and various belief systems including Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, agnostic, and atheist, to name a few.

Some believe that Christian Counseling means simply praying and reading from the Bible. While there are times that prayer and truths from scripture are integrated into therapy if the client desires, effective psychotherapy involves much more.

Secular evidence-based practices adhered to by most clinicians are founded on the idea that our beliefs and thoughts, whether conscious or unconscious, determine our emotions and behaviors. When we are able to focus on and change our thoughts, our emotions and behaviors change as well. This central theory of psychotherapy is completely in line with Christian theology which teaches, based on the writings of the Apostle Paul, that we are transformed by the renewing of our mind. This is truly my theme as a Christian Counselor.

If you are looking for a Christian Counselor who practices effective psychotherapy while depending on God to guide and empower the healing process, please contact me today.

If you are looking for a therapist with integrity who will respect your personal beliefs and treat you with the utmost of kindness and compassion, I look forward to hearing from you!
